the weavers parable

Based on a parable of an orchard, the story of Weavers goes...

God owns the cattle on a thousand hills and all the orchards on the face of the earth. The fruit is ripe, abundant, and infinite. The people eat directly from the trees and feel satisfied. Most end up settling in the orchard all their lives and live a basic hand-to-mouth existence. They stay because they are convinced if they leave the orchard they will perish.

Then there are the Weavers: those who create a basket and bring it into the orchard. These workers harvest the fruit, add value to the fruit by processing and packaging it, then sell it at a profit. The truly wise worker also harvests seeds from the fruit and eventually grows their own produce. These are the true entrepreneurs.

The fruit always belongs to God; the workers are just stewards. But the Weaver makes the basket a product of his or her creativity, energy and effort. By building a functional, durable basket (business) a person can take the fruit God has created and distribute it well beyond the boundaries of the orchard-multiplying profit and expanding influence.

Weavers' vision is to teach men and woman of God how to "weave" and maintain their business basket so it will endure all the challenges and conditions of the real world. When these baskets are created according to biblical principles they become powerful instruments of testimony. When a basket fails, God's fruit is wasted.

To be a Weaver means to understand and commit to the biblical principles of operating a business. Weavers has established Guidelines, which form a clear foundation for any business you may own or operate. They are in place to serve and multiply.

Weavers long-range plan is for an ever-increasing number of better, stronger, larger business baskets spreading regionally, nationally and around the earth. In this way, communities well served will leave legacies beyond tomorrow.
